Rihanna is a national hero for Barbados.
Prime Minister Mia Mottley congratulated Rihanna, the pop artist, businesswoman and fashion icon, during the ceremony, saying: “I hope you continue to shine like a diamond.”

“The creative minds of the world were influenced by her great mission, her ingenuity, her discipline and her tremendous commitment to her Caribbean heritage,” she noted.
